Question - I am now on cd 14 and have not ovulated yet. I took Clomid on days 3-7. I have some slight pain on my right side, did anyone experience this? Also, when do people usually ovulate while on clomid? I read somewhere that sometimes it makes people ovulate late?? I would appreciate any help.

My doctor told me that with clomid you ovulate later than usual. I think he said between days 16 and 18. Good luck!

Elizabeth this is fantastic news!!! two little babies. I hope this happens to all of us. Can you refresh what amt of clomid & days taken...thanks again.

Ann- While on Clomid, I ovulated at days 19 or 20. Without it, I never ovulated. So, it does seem to come later.

Elizabeth, that is great news!!
Ann - my doctor told me between days 12-17, 5 to 10 after you stop taking the clomid. I usually ovulated on day 13.

Thank you all for your answers, they really helped. I was beginning to worry that I had not ovulated already!

Elizabeth Smith - July 3rd, 2005 12:13 PM

I took 50 mg of clomid on days 5-9.

Ann - have you been taking your temperature every morning as well?

Ann - July 3rd, 2005 7:02 PM

Leslie - No, I'm not really sure how that works. But, I am willing to try it. I thought it only let you know after you ovulated, not before. Could you explain?

Leslie - July 4th, 2005 9:46 AM

get a basal temperature thermometer, they are in the drug stores. If you can get a pattern with your temperature, it usually dips down then goes up when you ovulate. Plus you can tell if you did ovulate with your temperature being elevated during the second half of your cycle. You can get ovulation charts to monitor off the internet or from your doctor. Let me know if you need further info. I have been doing it for four months. Still no luck but if gives the best chance to try. Plus it is good info. to give to my dr. when I see him.

Leslie - Thanks for the info. I will read about it and try that next month. My monitor did show that I ovulated yesterday, and my pain is now gone. So now the wait begins.....

I am 34 weeks pregnant with twins (boys) having taken one cycle of Clomid! I have just turned 36 and we have a boy who is 3yrs old and was conceived naturally. So far the pregancy has been very good with only a little sickness in the early stages, along with some crampy stomach feelings, but no heartburn, etc. I have put on 31 lbs so far, the last scan showed both babies head down and weighing about 4 llbs each.

Hey everybody I am 33 years old with PCOS and endometriosis. I recently had a miscarriage in March 2005. My doctor started me back on the Clomid 50mg as I conceived on it the first time. I had my progesterone level checked. Last week and found out it was miserably low to be on Clomid. The doctor immediately put me on Provera 10mg to start my cycle and doubled the Clomid to 100mg as soon as my cycle starts. I had taken the Clomid in April, May and June. Is this common, to take it a while and then need it increased? We have been married 15 years and hope to have a child. I hope this increase in meds works. Baby dust and prayers to all.

Hi Fiona im 22 on July 19th and currently 8 weeks pregnant for the 3rd time. I had two previous miscarriages. I have PCOS and an Under Active Thyroide Disorder. I have been on Clomid for 1 month and Metformin for 5 months and horay pregnant again. I am a bit nervous but ok. I went for my first scan at 7 weeks pregnant (2003) and all that was there was the sac. I got pregnant one month later and lost at 5 weeks. Im currently experiencing sharpe shooting pains and a slight discomfort which I think is normal the most important thing to do is not worry, take it from somebody who know's. Im having sickness every now and again and i have sore breasts which are starting to ease slightly. I have my 10 week scan in 2 weeks i will keep you all informed keep your fingers crossed for me and i will for all of you that are pregnant and that are trying to get pregnant. Good Luck !!

Laura you said that your numbers were low for having been on clomid. Do you know what you number was. the doctor said mine was 12.9 but I do not know where that fits on the chart. I also have PCOS but took clomid in June but did not even ovulate. My dr moved me to 100 mg as well. I am hoping for results. Keep me informed with how things go. I hope something will happen soon. Wishing you the best of luck.

Christine - July 10th, 2005 1:57 AM

hello! I have just been diagnosed with PCOS. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for almost a year now with no luck. My doctor wants to put me on clomid. I am aprehensive due to multiple births and risks for the baby and myself. If anyone can give me any information expecially about how long it normally takes to conceive on clomid I would appreciate it.
