Hi all,
A little off the subject but I had my pos OPK surge on cycle day 16 and tested again this morning as I was curious to see what it would say(cycle day 19. I still have a positive surge line. So that would make it four days of a positive surge?? It doesn't sound correct, when would I have ovulated or is it possible I havn't ovulated? hmmmmmm.

WELL TO EVERYONE, (IGNORING ALL THE SAD LADIES HERE WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN BE BITTER!)
It is said the earlier you take clomid in your cycle the more follicles you produce but the quality won't be very good and there is a higher chance of a failed pregnancy...but thats a statistic..the later you take it i.e. 3-7, 4-8,5-9...the fewer mature follicles you produce but the quality is better...and hence more chnaces of having a successfuly preg and hecne less chance of a m/c...however i believ and as we all know all woman are different it has alot to do with your cycle and when you normally ovulate...as we are all different what may work on me might not work on you and docs also would just suggest any of those days to their patients some just guessing and what they prefer..as general practice and some who have a good knowledge of their patients cycl'e and have monitored them before administrating clomid to them...so really its whatever you feel you want to do...i suggest to be in the middle and take from days 4-8!good luck and keep us posted!and ignore judgements....people like that are obviously bored!!!!or jealous!!!lol!!

ABOUT OPKS....WHAT HAPPENS WITH OPK'S IS THAT YOU FIRST SHOULD HAVE A ROUGH IDEA THE NUMBER OF DAYS OF YOUR CYCLE..SUPPPOSE ITS 28 DAYS MOST OF THE TIME YOU THEN COUNT 10-11 DAYS INTO THE CYCLE AND THAT THEN YOU SHOULD TAKE YOUR FIRST OPK..IF YOU DETECT A SURGE I.E A LINE APPEARS, THEN REGISTER IT IN A DIAR/ BOOK OR ON THE TEST ITSELF..THE DATE AND CYCLE DAY AND ALSO WHETHER IT IS LIGHTER, DARKER OR ALMOST NON APPEARANT
THEN THE TEST LINE...IF THERE IS NO LINE OR A VERY VERY FAINT ONE THEN YOU HAVENT HAD A SURGE (AS LH IS ALWAYS PRESENT AT SOME QUANTITIES IN YOUR BODY)...WAIT 2 DAYS AND TAKE ANOTHER ..HOWEVER IF A LINE IS DETECTED ..KEEP NOTE OF ITS INTENSITY AND THE DAY OF YOUR CYCLE WHEN YOU DETECTED IT..IN FACT I KEEP MY OPKS AND DATE THEM...KEEP DOING THAT UNTIL YOU FIND THAT THE LINE BEGINS TO BECOME LIGHTER AND EVENTUALLY ALMOST DISSAPEARS...(REMEMBER TO TAKE OPK TESTS IN THE AFTERNOON TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE TAKING TEST WITH LESS CONCENTRATED URINE AS LH IS ALWAYS PRESENT ANYWAY)
..ONCE YOU GET TO THE STAGE WHERE THE LH IS ALMOST GONE AGAIN..YOU CAN COUNT ALL THE TEST YOU DID AND ASSUME THAT THE DARKEST OPK LINE WILL BE THE ONE WHERE YOU MAY HAVE OVULATE WITHIN 24-48 HOURS LATER AND THE ONE JUST AFTER THAT ONE SHOULD BE LIGHT AGAIN!!!AS LH DROPS DRAMATICALLY WHEN THE EGG IS RELEASED...A GOOD TIME TO BD!!!!LOL!!!
NOW IN TERMS OF HELPING YOU TO DETECT O...TRY AND USE THE CERVIAL MUCOUS METHOD TOO AS YOU BEGIN TESTING..CHECK ITS SHOULD GO FROM DRY TO STICKY TO CREAMY TO WET AND THEN REALLY WET AND EGG WHITISH (O IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN OR HAS ALREADY)...AND THEN BACK TO DRY TO STICKY AGAIN TO CRUMBLY!!...
IF YOU ALSO MAKE A NOTE OF THAT AND PUT IT AGAINST YOUR OPK'S YOU CAN GET A VERY ALMOST ACCURATE DAY IN YOUR CYCLE WHEN YOU O...ALSO LOOK OUT FOR SORE BOOBS (WHEN YOU PRESS THE NIPPLE THEY WILL FEEL TENDER AND EVEN HURT), SLIGHT PMS CRAMPING, AND ACHES AND SLIGHT PAIN IN YOUR OVARIES ON EITHER SIDE WHILE THE LINE COMES OUT DARK...THE LAST THING TO HELP YOU IS TO CHECK YOUR CERVIAL POSTITON...PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS WHEN YOU DO..CHECK IF IT IS HIGH AND WET WHILE INSERTING 2 FINGERS GENTLY AND TRY AND FIND THE TIP AND SEE IF IT IS OPEN ...IF YOU FIND IT HARD TO REACH + YOUR LINE IS DARK + YOUR CM IS WET AND EGGWHITE...YOUR ABOUT TO OVULATE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS OR DAY...IF YOU CHECK JUST AFTER YOU THINK YOU OVULATED IT WILL DROP DOWN AND BE DRY AND HARD LIKE THE TIP OF YOU NOSE...

Just FYI.. if daddy-to-be has anything but great sperm count, BD every day actually decreases your chances of conception. Studies have shown that around 70% of all couples unsuccessful conceiving in the first year have some male fertility issues ( although it us usually a combination of male/female). The other 30% are just female. Just so you know....

Shey sounds like you are in the 2week wait. Keep us posted. I have decided to take my clomid on days 5-9. My previous 2 children with clomid were 3-7. I will then start it tomorrow. Lots of baby dust to all!!

How many of you women are taking Clomid unprescribed without your husband knowing, and why? This is in no way an attack or judgement. Share as an anonymous participant if you like.. Thanks

I take clomid prescribed, I am just going to take a little more so I will be monitored. My husband is totally on board!!

I take Clomid prescribed as well. My hubby can't wait for another baby!
I am now 6 days past ovulation. Was a little bit more tired yesterday but then again it might be all in my head!! lol.

what are the chances of twins if on 3-7 days with 100mg of clomid??already ovulating but periods out of whack??

Hi everyone. This second week wait is killing me!!!
Another quick question on OPK's: I brought a packet of the MDS OPKs and because they have 8 tests in them they beg you to use them all!! I did eventually get a negative 5 days after my initial surge, but now being 8 days past ovulation I decided to use my last two tests. The one yesterday to no surprise was negative completely and now the one today would be considered border line positive. I would say it was %65 colour. Could this mean that I am pregnant?

Hi Shey. I hear that b/c you always have LH that you have to use them later in the day are you using first morning urine. I haven't heard of ++ OPK for ++ PG, have you tested for PG? I am taking 150mg my girlfriend got them from Mexico for me. I have had little side effects if any. Maybe some night sweats so hope they are actually working. Today is CD 9 last day of Clomid then waiting to O.

hi shannon am in the same boat as you...am on 50mg clomid..how come your taking 150???tonight is my last pill and am going to ovulate...a question...i took clomid from cd 2 (15th) had a af obviously from the 14th (spotting at night to full af on the 15th) and am still bleeding...is that normal???last time i stopped bleeding after 2 full days and 3 days spotting...this time i have a more heavy flow!
also no side effects witht eh first 3 pills but since yesterday and more so today am getting twitchy feelings on right ovary....checked LH surge on cd 2 and had slighlty more than faint positive!what does this all mean? oh when should you begin bedding?

Trisha good to hear some one in my same boat. I am taking 150 b/c I already have to take it prescribed by MD. So am taking extra for twins. I am also taking 1200 of folic, baby asprin, and epsom salt baths every other night. will start mucinex tomorrow for hostile cm. This af for me was much lighter than normal for me. Mine are very very heavy. So it was almost nice. I have heard of others who had longer cycles. I will start BD tomorrow CD10 every other day until I get +OPK then every day for those 2-3 days. Hope this helps.
