I am 7weeks along and worried about the risks of delivering twins at 36. Anyone have advice on screening and risks? Thank you!

What does your OB have to say? If you are in NJ I have a great one for you! You want someone who is aware of the risks, but doesn't obsess over them... Many, many women deliver healthy happy babies in their mid- 30's. Good luck!

My OB is great, she is preg herself at 38. My concerns are with amnio and the increased risk of children with chromosomal abnormalities. We have no previous history, but stats say we are at a much higher risk due to my age and that I am having twins. And amnio at 15 weeks, with twins, should there be serious negative results, the babies would be so far along, what would we do? Thats what scares me. Thanks for listening.

I have just turned 36 and I am 31weeks pregnant with twins. This is my first pregnancy. I too had concerns about being an older mum and to be perfectly honest I have had a virtually trouble free time so far. The only problem I am having now is getting comfy at night and the awful heartburn I get even after drinking water. I know stats show over 35 are classed as high risk but I also have found that most people relay only horror stories and never the good ones about situations that are in effect pretty rare. Try and enjoy your time, a stress free mom to be will have stress free babies!
