I'm curious to know if i will have twins. My father and oncle are fraternal twins and my Husband and his brother are Identical Twins so is there a high possibility that i will have fraternal or identical twins? thanks

Your DH being an identical twin won't play a part for you conceiving twins because identical twins are just a fluke of nature (from studies so far). But, your father being a fraternal twin could infact give him the gene to pass down to you to make you ovulate more than one egg during a cycle. If that has indeed happened, it really only gives you about a 3-5% chance for fraternal twins.HTH!

okay..identical twins aren't a fluke...lol..there are factors that scientists dont yet konw about...however..if you have twins on the womens side of the family then that is where most of the twins come from...even your dad being a faternal twin can cause identical twins as well as ovulating more than one egg a cycle...there is no real scientific proof of any pattern in twins being passed in the family because i'm a twin, identical, my father is a faternal twin and his father was a faternal twin, mostly it runs of the womens side of the family but...if there is a significant amount of twin genes on the fathers side or your dh#s side then it can be passed by the means of his sperm...Its all in the genes and yet there is no significant pattern in twins there is always such a combination that determines the type of twin..

but since you have twins in your family it would in fact give you a higher rate of twins....its almost impossible to determine when twins will appear in a family time line...but its currently being researched and they have learned a lot about twins thus far...from conception genes to the way twins behaive in later years to come...I hope this helps and i will answer as many questoins as you may have..i know a lot about twins and would lvoe to pass on a bit of information...i know things down from all the types of identical twins to faternal..to types of patterns and sucessrates...i hope ic an be of more help and if you need anything..just ask....
