Ok- anyone else just hit 39wks? I swear i've had a great pregnany but this last month has been enough for me to never want to be pregnant again. I know contractions and labor will hurt but if that's what it takes to get her here, than so be it. Any words of encouragement sure would help. I swear everyone has basically let me know when it will be convienient for me to have this baby- hello !!!!! i'm the one pregnant. And what is with everyone doubting the sex of my baby-People ask what i'm having and then as soon as i say it's a girl- they ask if i'm sure- i say i'm sure and then it's " but are you really sure" because my sister's , cousins , Aunt's ,wifes, daughters ,swore they were having a girl but it came out a boy. i'm having a freakin girl- i have a picture of her girl parts AHHHHHH!!!!!!! I'm stressed, tired , UNCOMFORTABLE and people need to leave me alone!!! Sorry- just need to vent.

I felt this way when I was preggers w/ my son......I actually got induced a week before my due date because I was so uncomfortable!! Everyone doubted the sex of him too, and I'm like HELLO!! Do you see the turtle head popping out of the shell!!

honeybea-----isn't this last month insane? It's enough to drive any sane person bonkers! And we all know pregnant women aren't sane with all the hormones!! how are you doing today? Finding anything to distract you from the miser...uh hum, I mean joy of pregnancy?
hang in there!!! SOOOO CLOSE!!!

carol23 - September 1st, 2006 2:27 PM

I feel you honeybea! I'm due sept. 7th and I am SOOOOOOOOO ready to have this baby! I am ready to have all these aches and pains go away. Most of all, I just want to hold my little guy already! I'm gonna have a big baby. They estimated his weight to be around 8-9 lbs. Big boy huh?

Smilefull - September 1st, 2006 5:48 PM

carol, beware--there are tonnes of aches and pains after babe comes, not to mention sleep deprivation and overwhelming amount of work. I just remember my first pregancy I couldn't wait for babe to come because I thought it would ALL be over, but in fact, it was just the beginning.

If I can give you any advice, after you deliver, that night, let the hospital take care of your baby for the night because it will be the last night of sleep you get for a long time!! I know it sounds bad, but that is what they are there for!! When I was preggers w/ my first, I kepy my boy in my room w/ me until it was time for me to go to bed, then they came in and took him to the nursery and did his feedings for the night, and brought him back at like 10:00 a.m. Enjoy your last night of sleep!!

Smilefull - September 1st, 2006 6:19 PM

that's not a bad idea Tammy...I think I'm more scared of the sleep deprivation and the pain of AFTER the birth, than that actual event. Letting the nurses take care of babe that first night might just tkae the edge off the next couple of nights

i didnt just hit 39 weeks im actually well past it....9 days overdue to be exact....its even more uncomfortable if you have to go this far overdue...my doc wont induce until you are at least 2 weeks overdue so i feel your pain hun....i think this is the most uncomfortable ive been in my entire life well good luck ladies...ttyl...Jess!!

Tammy276 - September 2nd, 2006 6:45 PM

Are you planning on natural or having an epidural? I opted for the epidural after they broke my water because I had a contraction that never went away.........I really wasn't in that much pain afterwards, it was weird I really didn't think about it!! Southernbelle, you need to talk to your doc., per your request, when you are over due, they should induce you, it can actually be dangerous to wait the two weeks because at 2 weeks, the placenta starts to die and it can be dangerous.......Are you effaced or dialated at all yet? If you are ripe, they should have to problem inducing you when you want to be induce, especially if you are that uncomfortable....my doc. induced me 1 week before my due date. I was 100% effaced and 3 cm dialated already...I was ready to go!!

sweetsouthernbelle - September 2nd, 2006 8:52 PM

he talked to me about it at my last dr visit...he said that he will not induce before 2 weeks overdue unless there is a complication....he sent me for a sonogram to see the presentation and check the amniotic fluid and he said everything was fine and that i was still gonna have to wait it out...i hate waiting and i know for sure i wont be using this doctor next time either....im having bad back pains and lower abdominal pains...im hoping tonight is the night and if not i guess ill still have to wait....as for dialation and effacement he said i was still completely closed and thick last wednesday and that he sees no signs of me going into labor on my own so i guess im just kinda screwed until my 2 weeks overdue is up....i just hope none of ya'll have to go through this....it SUCKS....it really does....i wish i had picked a different doctor but oh well its a little to late now i guess....anywho good luck peoples...Jess

Tammy276 - September 3rd, 2006 12:00 AM

southernbelle, try having sex as much as possible if you want induce labor....I know, easier said than done when you are 9 months plus pregnant!! But make sure he finishes and you too:). His spermies will help you thin out and you having the big O will help you dialate......It sucks being that far along and there is nothing you can do about it....you would think your doc. would incude you being how umcomfy you seem....what a jerk..also, you could try caster oil, but remember that it will also cause your bowels to empty within like 3 hours of taking it, but this can stimulate contractions and cause you to go into labor....good luck and I hope everything goes well for you!!

jjmommy - September 7th, 2006 9:49 PM

You should enjoy every second of what could be your last week. There are so many women who dread this part of pregnancy and there are so many things that you should be thankful for. There are many women who would love to be in your shoes who can't. I think you are feeling more anxiety of the unknown than feeling miserable.

carol23 - September 7th, 2006 10:20 PM

I've given up trying everything to naturally induce. I have surrendered to the fact that I'm going to have to be induced on the 14th. Like jjmommy said, I'm going to TRY and enjoy this last week of pregnancy. And as a matter of fact, I'm going to milk it for all it's worth. I think I'll have my hubby give me a foot massage tonight. It sounds good.

Tammy276 - September 7th, 2006 11:42 PM

there is alot of anxiety, but there is also a lot of discomfort that comes with being pregnant, especially if you are 40+ weeks and it is hard to enjoy when you just want to be done with it!! yes, there are woman out there who would wish to be in our shoes, but that doesn't mean that we can't feel miserable.....its a part of being pregnant....Carol, milk it, a foot massage might be good for ya, there are pressure points in the foot and ankle that can cause contractions...good luck!! The 14th is just around the corner for you..Alot of times woman will go into labor naturally the day before their induction is scheduled because of the anxiety...so you still have a chance of going into labor naturally!!
