Everyone is different. It could take as long as a year but it could only take a couple of months. Check with your doctor before trying to get pregnant, and start pre-natal care early! Good Luck!

I just stopped taking the pill the first week of July 2005 after being on it for 8 years. My husband and I did this because we heard from my OB that it could take several months until I can get pregnant and we were hoping to be pregnant by Christmas or mid-winter. But- I just found out two days and two tests ago that I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant and it is only August 20th. It just depends on the person's body. I also read that studies show that getting pregnant soon after stopping the pill has no increased chances of miscarrige or birth defects, in fact, they found that it slightly reduces these chances.

I went off the pill for a week after my period to start my BC on Sunday, so I went off for a week but had intercourse, is it possible in that time spand to get pregnant?

I'm on the pill, AND I GOT PREGNANT TWICE!!! i dont think it works, i mean i really stuck to it, didnt miss any etc didnt do anything while on medication etc, but nooo!!! doesnt work for me.. now i have to decide if i want this baby? i do, but then again im scared ill be alone.

A baby is a beautiful life and I think God just meant for it to be here if you got pregnant while on the pill. If you don't keep the baby, you might have regrets later. I am pregnant now, and I can NOT imagine trying to decide if I want it or not! It is a part of my body and a part of me! What a precious gift! Good Luck!
