Hi, I ve been off the pill for six months now which I was taking for almost 5 years, since I want to get pregrant, and although I have been having regular periods from the first month I have also been having irregular bleeding (spotting but a bit heavier) during the second half of my cycle...been to my doctor who said that all is fine and I shouldn't worry and just to give my body some time. But this is getting quite frustrating! Does anyone know how long it takes to get back to normal?

It's different for everyone, unfortunately. Good luck, hopefully it will straighten out quickly for you!

just like clindhom said, everyone's body is different. i've heard of women who got pregnant right after they stopped taking the pill, and of women who took a year or more to get pregnant. for me, i got pregnant 3 months after i stopped taking the pill.. i wish you lots of luck with this! i know it can be frustrating, but be patient with your body. you already have your regular period back, so your body already is getting well adjusted to being off the pill..
