I'm 18-years-old and thinking I may be pregnant. I haven't felt "myself" the past few weeks. I have been extremely tired, I seem to be hungry all the time, and I started having weird "twinges" in my abdomin that alternated sides. I am due to start my period Oct. 20. This morning (Oct. 19) I woke up with horrible cramps. I went to the restroom and the tp had a very very faint pink stain on it. When I went to the restroom again, there was a thicker, brown discharge on the tissue. I put on a liner and checked back in about 30 mins. When I did, there was darker blood on the tissue and the smallest of stains on the liner. The cramps were still really bad. The bleeding increased and there was some clotting. Near the middle of the day I noticed a change in the bleeding. It's more pinkish in color and the clots are brownish. The cramps are not quite as painful. The bleeding seems to come and go. And possibly tmi, but I don't think it smells like period blood. I have never been irregular in my cycles so for me to start bleeding a day early is odd. I think it may be implantation bleeding. Have any women experience the same type of bleeding? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

im in the same boat:
Oct 9th- made Love
oct14th- at 5dpo faint brown discharge when wiped
oct 15th- more brown spotting when wiped,just needed a panty liner
oct 16th- very dark like a burnt brick
oct 17th- turned light red, needed a small pad,never filled
0ct 18th-19th- same
oct 20th- almost stopped

I never had brown spotting and never had spotting before. My period is always heavy start for 4 days and gradually decreses to use a small pad for the nxt 4 days. i have a 8 day period.

Any ideas or thoughts plz pour in.

My husband and I have been trying for 2 months. My period is supposed to start on Wednesday (today is Sat) and instead, I had a light pinkish discharge, it only happened when I wiped, then, it turned to brownish discharge (today again is Sat), I took a pregnancy test at home today and it came out negative. I don't know how many more days I need to wait to take another pregnancy test. I just have a strong feeling that I am pregnant already, I have been feeling a little bit nauseated. Any advice?

Hello ladies,... i just want to say tht i am not pregnant...got an ultrasoung done. Dr.says im all healthy...dont know why this change happened. Everone plz take time to post your results

This article below really helped me. I experienced spotting on Nov. 6th and 7 (red to pink)and lighter(pink to brown) on the 8th...then nothing. Took a pregnancy test yesterday which was negative, but found out that it may be too early from this article. Will try again in a week. Wish me luck!


Women who experience implantation bleeding usually do not need to worry about their unborn child. Because some light cramping and PMS-like symptoms may occur along with the bleeding, women who are not trying to conceive can mistake this kind of bleeding for a short period. It is estimated that between one-quarter and one-third of pregnant women experience this type of bleeding.

If you are trying to get pregnant and experience some bleeding, it is helpful to recognize the signs of implantation bleeding. Signs include:

* Discharge is light pink or brown
* Light cramping
* Bloating
* No “flow”

Even if you are not trying to get pregnant, it is possible your birth control may have failed. If you experience this type of bleeding, take a pregnancy test when you should have your regular period. Taking a pregnancy test only a week after ovulation or at implantation may produce false results. For the most accurate results, wait until you are due to have your period.

In instances where the implantation is mistaken for a period, the baby is usually born three to four weeks later than originally estimated. If you find out that you are pregnant and remember experiencing bleeding like this, mention it to your doctor. Then he/she can take proper steps to correctly estimate your baby’s gestational age.

i am having the same problem. i thought i got my period the other day, it is normally very heavy and i feel like i am dieing, this time my period was 6 days late... i bled for a lil bit, then it went away, i even cramped for about an hour or so, then it turned brown and was gone, bled a lil today this morning, and now it's gone, i don't even have my period anymore.. so i am wondering if this is implantation bleeding? i mean i took a test a few days ago, and it was neg. i am also really sick today my throat is sore and i can't talk, have a little bit of a cough, ( some say that's a sign of pregnancy, is getting sick) but i don't know for sure. anyone else had this with my so called period? just curious. anything would help ..

also the veins in my chest have been sticking out, i am noticing them and they are darker around my nipples... i just seemed to notice them the other day, i love to wear tank-tops, especially to bed and i noticed it, it scared me at first till i did some research on the web... so, anyone else? i mean can i have this cuz i got my "period?" is that possible to get this before i get my period? i think i am having implantation bleeding I normally cramp and bleed for about 5 days or may, today is day 2 and its gone.... hmm.

ok.. i couldn't sleep last night because i've been so worried as to why it's been 42 days since my last period!! My cycles are usually longer than 28 days- the longest i've had to wait for my period is 33 days.
I've been feeling dizzy, bloated and can feel some acidity in my stomach. I didn't have implantation bleeding and took 2hpt, negative, and 1 urine test at hospital two days ago, also negative.
BUT today i've started bleeding, bright red colour with cramping, like a pm cramps but the bleeding is not heavy. I feel drained.
could this be implantation bleeding? i know every pregnancy is different- in my last pregnancy i easily identified it as implantation as it was just a spot of light pink blood. This ones different... but is it normal????? How much blood is normal exactly?? I'm feeling dizzy just thinking about everything!! Is anyone in the same boat? please help!! thanks xx

MizLALA' what happened?had u been pregnant after ur bleeding ( light to heavy & unusual brown/clotty)?? pls help me by updating ur case....if ur pregnant then I am also!!!

My husband and I started to try this year. After our first try, I was disappointed to "feel" my period coming five days ago. The time was about right based on my regular period (I've been keeping track). However, after two days of my disappointment, I still have no heavy "flow" which is not usual for me. Now I'm on my fifth day with light brownish / minor red discharge. After reading articles about Implantation bleeding, my hope is back on. Please post if you have similar experience. I will keep my finger cross and update later.

Hi, everyone. I have been reading everyone's postings, and I am glad to see that I am not the only one going through this. O.k my problem all started with that depo provera shot. My last shot was in July 07, but it actually didn't wear off until Feb'08. Me and my fiance have been trying to conceive for 8 months now, but each month, MDAF shows up on schedule. AF came on Dec 1. On December 11th, I was spotting, which let me know I was getting ready to ovulate, which was on the 13th. On the 22nd, I started spotting, which shocked me since my period wasn't due to start until the 27th. I only noticed it when I wiped, but it didn't even hit the pad. The next day, I started spotting again, but later on that evening, it was a little more, which made me think that my period started, so I used a tampon this time. I also took a hpt test, which was negative. The next morning, the 24th, there was nothing but a few specks of brown blood. The whole day I was sluggish, and tired. I had a slight temperature. I was still spotting. Around 6pm, I felt a big cramp in the middle of my stomach, and I went to the bathroom and I started bleeding heavily with clots. I went to the hospital because I thought that I was having a miscarriage. By the time I went to the hospital, I had stopped bleeding (which was only an hour later) and the cramping was gone., except for a little dull ache, but the doctor said that the cramping was from the dehydration from the temperature. He gave me a pg test, which was a BFN, and a couple of IV bags. I came home last night drained and nauseous. This morning the 25th, no blood at all. My periods are consistent: full throttle on the first three days, until it tapers off between days 4 and 5. I think that it was too early for the pregnancy to be detected, since I was only 11dpo. I am just going to have to play the waiting game and see. I am 35 years old (I will turn 36 in a couple of weeks) and even though I have a 15, 8, and 4 year old, I want to have a baby with my soon-to-be husband before I get too old. Time is of the essence. For those of you who already don't know this: PLEASE, PLEASE don't use the depo-provera shot as a means of birth control if you plan on getting pregnant in the near future. It has been the worst mistake of my life. I have never had problems with getting pregnant before. I had my 4 year old daughter when I was 32.BTW, the blood that I saw last night was period blood, it was bright red. I am going through agony here.

Kaylakyle, I am in the same boat, except my started early. I am quite heavy for the first few days, but haven't been heavy at all, just for that incident, which sent me to the hospital, and that lasted all of a couple of hours. I hear that many women experience what they think is a light period, but really turn out to be pregnant. Everybody's body is different, but we are similar in many of the ways here on this forum. Have you taken a pregnancy test? You started this right around the time that your regular period was about to start, so you could possibly get a positive result. Please update us and let us know what happened. I will also update if I have any changes.

Lexxie73, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am 32 now, I never thought getting pregnant is a problem until now when I want to start a family :(. I can fully sympathize your situation, it's a horrible experience to go through. After my posting on Jan 23, I went off Targert bought myself the test, it turned out to be negative :( . Then yesterday, I believe my period came. Full flow as usual...sigh. I wonder if I was conceived and then it failed the implantation? I guess I can't even call it miscarriage? Another possibility is that I was just stressed causing my period delay. But I've been keeping track of my period dates and I am always dead on. Oh well, now with this delay, I am not sure when will I ovulate next month. I might need to try those ovulation kit. Anyway, Lexxie73 I wish you all the best. i just had my period and it ended on jan 16th. i just started having light brown spotting along with cramps on jan 26th that has lasted 4 days now. could this be implantation bleeding? i took a test two days ago and it said that im not pregnant? someone please help! im not on birth control so it is possible that im pregnant. now im experiencing lower back pain as well.

I'm Hoping someone here can help answer my question. (i would put a new thread up but can't remember how..lol) anyways i will explain alittle before i get to the question.. I had some problems with my last child (which is number 3) she was born 8-9-08 but passed due to problems. I had a normal period on 12/26/08. On 1/19/09 i had some light spotting (not a regular period) it was pinkish and brownish It lasted 4 days. Nothing sense i've been feeling like i have to throw up lately but can't just feel sick to my stomach, feeling vary tired to. I have taken a home test but came out neg. could anyone give me any advice on whats going on with me or does anyone have a similar problem? thanks

I feel this is the right place to put up my query. I just need an advice from you all. I am 29 yrs old ,married and looking to start our family(this will be my first child). i usually have regular cycle of 28 days and so as i have understood i would ovulate every 14th day, which is not always true so i assume it to be between 12-16 days.. i had my last to last period on the night of 13 dec 2008 and i assumed i would ovulate then on 26 or 27 , and me and my husband made love during those times. Soon After which i felt almost all the familiar symptoms of pregnancy which i have not expreienced before like breast tender to touch, nausea, fatigue,back pain, leg pain, strong instinct and also dizziness sometimes. but on 10th Jan 2009 night , i started bleeding again but that was not like the normal ones i used to have earlier. i had sharp pain , cramping and extreme leg pain. infact it was followed by fever as well . and i bleeded till 12th night and on 13th it was just spotting. I was worried but since i did home preg. test (Clearblue) twice and it showed negative. I believed that it could be some hormonal change and so took it lightly then .This time i was expecting to ovulate between 22-26th of jan and so me and my hubby mad love b/w these days. i even bought ovulation predictor and tested for days and on 24th saw two dark lines on that day and made love on 22,24,25,26.
As per 28 days cycle, i should have period on 7th feb and sad part is again i started bleeding exactly on 7th. This time no pain, just a little cramp a day before. But the preiod was light for 2 days , and on third day which is it was just spotting with nothing much showing on my pad and only when i wipe it with tissue. Also it started as light pink in color to dark brown.This also ended by 12 feb 09. Also i would mention this month i expeirenced not much sign of pregnancy except fatigue and back pain.Though i do feel tired all the time.

I know its a long meesage and you would automatically suggest me to go to GP for this. however i felt some guidance from you all would definetly help. One important thing , i again did pregnancy test on 9 feb 2009( using local sainsbury one) and it came out negative.
I am afraid and sad why this time after so much of good timing, the positive result didnt show up and why am i having small periods and also why i had so abnormal thing happening to my body during jan( my first month of trying). Also i m not going thrugh any stress and living a very happy married life. I have never been on contraceptive pills.
