Implantation Spotting But Still Negative

I have been TTC for 5 months doing double IUI's each month. Went in on 8/31 & 9/1. I ovulated between the two appointments so timing was perfect. For the first time this month I had brownish spotting 7-10 dpo. I've also had a lot of tingly cramping ...problem is all tests say negative and today is 14 dpo...Is it still too early? Can you have brownish spotting and not be pregnant?

yah it could be too early. When is your next af due, its probebly safer to test then, or a day or two after.

Thanks for the reply. I'm due on the 18th. I feel like I should be positive by now (14th). I find it hard to believe I could have the spotting without being pregnannt...wishful thinking I guess.

it is possible to spot and and not be pregnant...It can take up to 4 days for the egg to fully implant into your uterus and it won't start producing hcg until it has firmly implanted....so if it first finished implanting on 10 or 11 dpo, it would still be too early for you to test...wait a few more days and test again..usually about 6 or 7 days after implantation you should be able to test, but everyone is different and you may not get a positive until your AF is actually due.

I also had an IUI on 9/1/06. Not a double one though......i am wondering if i should have requested that? anyway, over-anxious me tested on 9/12 and it did come out positive. i knew i probably still had some hcg left in my system from the shot so i didn't get too excited. i tested again on 9/13 negative and then again today (per Dr.'s original instructions) and that was negative. i have NO symptoms except that i feel cramped and a little more moisture than usual down there.....which are typicial period onset symptoms. i called the dr's office today and told them the results and they told me to test again on 9/21. i can't stand the wait and emotional rollercoaster ride. i wish i could get my period today.
