Hi everyone I'm 17 and need advice and help. The other night, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex; we have been for the past three to four months. Last night we made a decision that he was going to cum in me and I was going to take the morning after pill, hoping it was going to work for me. Without thinking of the side effects of the morning after pill, he came in me. Now that I see the side effects, I am thinking of not taking the morning after pill but I know the effects of becomming pregnant. I'm not taking the morning after pill, but what I want to know is what are the chances of me getting pregnant. We had unprotected sex the 21st of February and I am expected to get my period the 9th of March. What are my chances of getting pregnant and when will I know? Advice would be great, thank you.

are you trying to get pregnant? the biggest side effect of not taking pill is the pregnancy! you should not be having sex if you do not understand the side effects of having unprotected sex. what does your bf think? are you both ready to be a parent? if not, you realize that if you decide to not have this baby, the pill wont work later anymore and the side effects of terminating the pregnancy are way riskier that taking a pill. In my opinion, the chances of you getting pregnant are very high, since the most fertile days are usually around 14 days into your cycle.
Good luck!

The morning after pill is NOT a contraceptive. Chances certainly are high that you will be pregnant.

you will know for sure when you are pregnant when you go to the doctors after you miss your period.. you have to weigh the pros and cons here.. i dont know of too many bad side effects of the morning after pill unless you consider life beginning at conception, the "effects" of becoming pregnant??? thats having a baby..do you have the means to provide for a baby? the stability? if not then you shouldn't making this great of a risk with a life... that being said if your next period is due on march 9th and if you have a regular 28 day cycle then your last period should have been around feb10. fourteen days after that is "said" to be when your egg is released so thats the 23...so id say your chance is pretty high... since sperm can live in you up to 7 days... i hope you are ready for whats coming.. wish you the best

Hiya

Well.... you cant just take the morning after pill every time you have unprotected sex. its harmful on yourself and it doesnt work after a while. in fact, the morning after pill only should be taken in a real emergency!

Im 21 and iv had the morning after pill twice, due to split condoms!
Get yourself on the pill if you dont wanna be pregnant, there no excuse!
Youve got a massive chance of getting caught! if you had sex on 21st feb, thats 2 week exactly before the 6th march when your due your period, and you are very likely to have ovulated on that date!

Im 6 weeks pregnant. I had intercourse on the friday 2 weeks before. I didnt have intercourse on the thurs or sat, just the friday.... I was due on friday 20th feb.... anyway i got caught! it was planned but just pointing out how easy it is without protection!

Before that i was on 'femadine' contraceptive pill from the age of 14 and have never been caught in the past!

Get ya self on the pill!!!!!

clindholm, she hasn't taken the pill.

candj, if you decide to take the pill i also want to let you know, that you only have 72 hours to take the pill. the that being said, the pills are usually effective 89%-95% if taken early. the faster you take it the better chance there is to protect yourself from pregnancy.
