Ultrasound/large Baby

At 28 weeks I had an ultrasound. The following week I went to the doctor and the doctor stated that my child was the size of a child that was at 31wks and 5 days. Does this mean that my child will be extremely large at birth? How large is too large to give birth to a child vaginally?

It could mean your baby is big for its estimated gestational age. Maybe you are a bit farther along than estimated. Or you could be one of those people who has big babies. Were you or your partner big babies? Do they run in the family for either of you? My husband was one of a pair of 8 pound twins, his older brother was 11 pounds. Big babies are common in his family. I thought it was funny when my doctor told me my baby's head was two weeks bigger than the rest of the body. I teased his father about having a large head--they run in his family too. Then I realised I would be the one passing this big head--isn't so funny anymore! I probably jinxed myself by teasing them all the time! Really don't work yourself up over it, you will probably be fine. If it still has your concerned, talk to your doctor.
