2 Month Growth Spurt

Can babies have a 2 month growth spurt? My dd was on a wonderful 3-3.5 hour feeding schedule since birth and since last Tuesday she's been eating every 2 hours even at night! She turns 2 months old today. Could this be a spurt or has she completley changed her schedule? Thanks!! I need sleep! :-)

Common times for growth spurts are during the first few days at home and around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less). Babies don't read calendars, however, so your baby may do things differently. She probably just changed her schedule. Babies sually wont start a real schedule until 3 months and even then it still changes.

Mine used to also change his "schedule" at random too, just to shake things up! Just go with it. If it's a spurt, it'll be over in a few days. If you can nurse laying down, do so. It will help you get through this little patch. DS nursed every hour for several weeks, so I totally get where you are coming from.

The author in "BabyWise" states that many babies go through a growth spurt during 7/8 weeks and again around 16 months. My baby is 8 weeks and used to be on a 3-3.5 hour schedule, but this week, it's been all over the place and I've been feeding her on demand, a__suming she's going through a growth spurt. Good luck!
