6 Month Old And Sleeping Through Night

So, my 6 month old seems to be getting up at night every 2 or so hours, just like he did when he was 2 months old. Shouldn't he be sleeping longer? He used to sleep a good 5-6 hours straight for awhile. What could be the problem now?

teething for sure

Could be a growth spurt; it could also be that he's ready for solid foods, or at least an increase in the amount of solids he's getting. My daughter did the same thing at the same age, and the solution was to give her more solids.

so i should feed him more meals during the day, rather than just b___stfeeding? ive been feeding him one meal of rice cereal or baby food at dinnertime so far.

Yeah, go ahead and introduce a second meal, either at breakfast or at lunch. It certainly won't hurt, and it may help!

It's normal too for some kids. Mine didn't sleep 5-6 hours at a stretch before he was a year. Feeding solids didn't help.

Teething and growth spurts - would be my guess. Both now wake my 6.5 month old more often. Usually he just wants a snack or to be held and he goes RIGHT back to sleep! The solids actually made it worse for my baby because he got gas and was constipated from the cereal, but that was just my experience, it doens't happen to everyone.
