HAs anyone ever switched to the "stage 2" nipple and it be ok for a br___tfeeding baby? i was already bought a big avent set and was thinking of using those. But i guess i could just switch the nipples on the bigger bottles to the slow flow and use them that way. I ended up loseing a couple bottles in the dishwasher and she is in her 3rd month now so i'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to switch her to the 3-6 months one soon.

If you want your baby to continue to be interested in nursing you should leave her on the stage 1 nipples. The higher the stage of nipple the faster the milk will flow and often times babies will get used to the flow and then get frustrated at the b___st. Babies have to work hard to get milk out of a b___st (that is what signlas your body to make more mlk ) So stick with the lowest flow nipple you have if you want to still nurse.

I agree with excited. My lo is 8 1/2 months and still one stage 1 or actually "slow flow". Altho these days she really don't even have a bottle once a week. Usually she just b___stfeeds and takes a sippy with water or mealtimes she'll have diluted juice. I actually started her with water in a sippy more to play with at 4 months one week. I don't know how many bottles your little one gets a day, it does take a long time to finish, but it's worth not loosing my supply and not being able to b___stfeed. Good luck.

I agree too. If you want to keep going with bfeeding then you mustn't make it too easy for bottle feeding or your baby will loose interest. Bfeeding is hard work and bottle feeding is really easy. There is no need to change to another stage if you want to keep going.
