I am just curious to know how many of you give your babies vitamin D drops, and how many of you do not. I keep getting conflicting info about whether ir not it is really necessary......thanks!

No, my daughter has never had the vitamin D drops. The fact is, you get all the vitamin D you need from 15 minutes of sunlight per week. In addition, formula fed babies aren't given the vitamins and c___p - only b___stfed babies. Why, if b___stmilk is so much healthier than formula, do b___stfed babies have to have vitamin supplements? The answer is, they don't. As long as you make sure you are eating a healthy, well-balanced diet, your baby will get everything (s)he needs.

Vitamin D is made by cells in the skin. So just a few minutes of sun exposure -- even through the window -- is adequate. Just going for a car ride is enough. I don't supplement either. It's messy stuff they don't like anyway. Don't bother with it.

I don't bother with it either. Although i thought it was 2 hours per week of sunlight. Either way sunlight provides more vitamin D then the drops.
