Combining Two Days Of Pumped Milk

Hello- I am wondering if it is ok to combine 2 days pumped milk and then freeze it as long as we use it by the first day pumped. I am also talking about consecutive days. Any help on this subject would be very much appreciated. Thank you Jennifer

Sure that's ok, I do that with my milk in the fridge...sometimes I dont' pump a lot at once so I'll pump what i can and then add to it either later in the day, or the very next day and use it. We give DD one bottle a day usually so I like to keep a full one in the fridge, but sometimes she empties me out before i can pump it into a bottle.

You can also freeze the first day's worth, then refrigerate the 2nd and once it's cold add it to the bag of frozen milk from the previous day...I was told by the lactation consultant that was ok to do, but to never add warm milk to frozen milk

I always mixed two different batches of milk and froze it. Make sure that they are both equally cold before doing it. I have read that you are not supposed to do as DB recommended. The reason is that the frozen milk will thaw some when the refigerated milk is poured in with it. I also would pour my milk into a small ice tray cube. Once frozen, I would put it in a milk storage bag that had other milk in it. Try doing a search on-line to see what they say about the different things we recommended. You may find better info.
