My baby is 3 1/2 months old and I had to stop br___tfeeding for a week due to being put on a couple of antibiotics. During the time I was just going to pump and dump and then continue. She did perfectly fine on formula and takes the bottle perfect. But now I need to get put on some more medication for months now and don't know on how to go about depleting my br___tmilk.

If you want to go about it quick and painful (oh btw, not really a non pain way to go at this) let them dry up. Dont pump, nurse nothing. Your going to get engorged, and its going to tell your bb's not to make anymore milk. After a day they realize, oh dont make any, and your body starts to absorb it. I put a burp rag in my bra to help with the leaking.

Which antibiotics did you have to take? I was told to pump and dump with dicloxicillan that I took for mast_tis. Most antibiotics are safe though. I have thrush now from 20 days straight of antibiotics and I can't get rid of it. I am also considering weaning b/c I am miserable and ds has thrush in his mouth too.

KDR my daughter and had thrush as well. Ask your ds pedi if they can put you both on diflucan, that worked great for us. Also while on diflucan they can prescribe you triple nipple ointment which was created by Dr. Jack Newman.
