Exclusively Pumping And Flying

Hi! I have a problem. We plan a trip to Europe in June. My lo will be 9 months then. I'm exclusively pumping since he was born. My goal was to have him exclusively on br___t milk until at least 6 months. He is 4.5 mo now and pumping is going very well. Now I'm thinking why not to continue pumping beyond 6 months, the only issue is how am I going to travel? I have to take 3 flights and I'll have to pump somewhere, maybe even in plane. Is it even possible with all the security to take a pump on board? What about pumped br___t milk can that be taken on board? Any experiences?

I believe you can take pumped b___st milk on planes, though I'm not positive and it probably depends on the airline. It will also depend on whatever's happening in the world at that moment! I would definitely contact the airline and ask about their policy. It would also pay to ask about pumps, since you probably don't want everyone in security handling it (ew!) before you use it, and I bet they have to check and make sure it isn't some sort of bomb. I know shortly after 9/11 a friend had to take her b___stpump through security, and they took it all apart and she wasn't able to use it, so it's worth asking. Good luck and have a great trip!

Hi Leilani14, I went through the same thing in august. I took my Medela b___st pump with me on the plane. ( There was no way i was letting them through my 300 dollar pump ontp the bottom of the airplane, lol :0) ) I also had expressed b___st milk with me. so yes you can take that with you. have fun on your trip:)
