Does anyone get WIC? My program in Oregon has offered me a pump. I don't know what kind, has anyone else gotten one for free?

even thought im not on wic i wouldnt take a free pump, i got one at the hopital and it was a cheesy hand pump, that is probly what you would be getting with wic but if you are really iterested make an apptment and ask tto see the pump b4 you take it that way you wont have to take something that you dont want you might be able to rent one but i would just buy a pump after talking to the lactaion consultant about what is a good pump you can always use it again, you can also get spare parts so if you have a friend that can use it let them the only parts you shoudld have to replace are the ones that come in contact with the milk and if they offer a free pump they might offer discounts on better ones too but definatly look into it b4 you get the freebie

my best friend got a free pump (not one to keep though) and it's not a cheesy hand one at all. It's a Medela electric double pump -good luck :)

I was offered the manual portion of the Medela electric double pump...turned it down, though, because i already have an Avent Isis manual.

I am not on WIC. However, I know the lactation consultant for WIC in my county (Brevard, Florida). They lend for free hospital grade rental pumps and from what I have been told they are top of the line. I do not know if this is the same in other areas.
