HELP On Breast Pumps

I'm looking into the possibility of solely pumping milk, so if I do go that route, I'll need a really good (hopefully not overly expensive) br___t pump that will last me months after use daily. I've read some reviews, and it seems a lot of pumps die out after a few weeks or a couple of months, so I thought I'd ask on here and see if you ladies had any recommendations for a good br___t pump. Also, should I get double or single? What's the big difference? I'm looking at electric pumps, by the way. Thanks =)

I would suggest a Medela In Style Advanced. Try calling your insurance company, mine will pay 80%.

I am using Medela In Style Advanced for 5 months now and I'm really happy wit it.

I read another thread, and this seems to be a really popular pump. Candace, I am a military wife, so our insurance covers most everything - I'm not sure where to call, but I'll ask my doctor next week if and how much they will cover. Thanks =)

I called the phone number on the back of my insurance card. They said all I have to do is have my doc write me a script for the pump and I have to take it to a medical supply place for them to get it for me. I go tomorrow to the doc so I will see for sure.

I got the Ameda Purely yours (I think - it's been a year since I bf my daughter - but getting ready to pull it out of storage for the new one on the way) and I loved it. You can't buy it in the store like the Medela, you have to buy it online, but I did tons of research and realized that this is much better than the Medela - you can do a comparison on their website and several other non-biased websites. I solely bf for 14 months, while working f/t for 6 of those months and it held up and worked great. Good luck!

Do not get the First Years electric pump - mine stopped working after a few weeks.
