My baby never learned to latch on my br___t so I pump for 4 moths. I decided to stop pumping and I'm not doing it gradually. My br___t are engored and in pain. My friend sugested I souldONLY apply Cold Packs because warm packs create more milk. How long will I experience heavy leaking and pain for? Does anyone have any suggestions? Any comments or recommendations will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

PUMP! being engorged for days on end is very dangerous. you could end up with clogged ducts, and mast_tus. pump enough to get some releife. let things slow down on their own. cabbage leaves help the drying up process too. a soak in a warm bath can also help you naturally express milk without triggering a "refill response". it may take a while for thigs to stop compleatly, but if done the right way the pain should stop in a week or so.

The only way I know how to stop the pain is by pumping to get rid of the milk. However, when I was having trouble with leaking, I used maxi-pads that I cut in two, one on one b___st, one on the other. They work great because they stick to the inside of your bra, and have a plastic backing that helps prevent leaking onto your shirt (embarra__sing!!).
