How Often And Do You Wake Them Up

So how do you know how often to feed? My sister-in-law's son ALWAYS wanted to feed and the little bugger at 10 months old is already 27 lbs! She constantly lets him nurse, he doesn't appear to be on any regular schedule and I think he just likes to suck? So how do you know when they "need" to feed vs suck and do you actually wake them up to feed during the night?

A baby that age, no, you don't have to wake up to feed at night. If he's hungry he'll awaken on his own. You should try to bring him on a tentative schedule, because he should be eating solids as well. Give him breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and do b___stfeedings in between (if not fully sated).
