I Can T Pump Anymore

My dd is 4 1/2 months, and since she was about 2 months I've been pumping a bottle a day for her because I tutor in the afternoons. Well, for the past few weeks, I just CAN'T get any milk. I've been having to feed her right before I leave, even if she's not due, just to try to hold her over until I get back. I'm having a hard time even getting the ounce or so to mix with her cereal. I don't know what happened. I used to pump after she went to bed, and get 5-6 ounces, but now I get nothing then, so I try throughout the day and am lucky if I get 2 ounces all day. Any suggestions?? I don't know what I'm going to do!

*I've always just used a manual pump. I wonder if an electric pump would make a difference... I have one, just need new tubing.

I would try the electric, i think they pump more effectivly, also have you tried pumping in the morning, that is usually the best time to get the most milk out.

The wic office told me the motors on the electric ones give after a while and that manual pumps are better. I haven't tried to pump with any regularity but Id like to start storing b___st milk in case we go somewhere.

You can try some herbal supplements to increase your milk supply. Blessed Thistle and Fenugreek are both great for milk supply and my midwife has recommended them.

Try pumping one b___b while your daughter is feeding on the other one, first thing in the morning. That's how I get a full bottle every day. With your daughter feeding on one, it'll stimulate the other to let down so you can get more bottled in one session.

my milk supply went down when my baby was about 6 mo old due to a high fever. My lac consulted recomended taking GASTRO. you can find it at any pharmacy. It is a digestive supplement that has been known to increase milk supply.
