I've been soley bf my 3 week old LO, and have been doing great so far...but the past couple days I feel like I haven't got as much milk as I've had up to this point. Even when I pump I feel like its taking longer to get it out...I was pumping 2-3oz no problem...now I feel like one br___t only has a small amt. and the other is good, but takes longer to express the same amt. that I have been....and on top of that my dd seems to be experiencing a growth spurt and I feel like she wants to eat all the time but maybe that she's not getting enough???? I want to keep a few bottles on hand for when I'm out or have company over so I don't need to disappear for an hour whenever she is hungry...is something wrong with me? any tricks to up my milk again? UHhhhhhh :(

if you want to increase your milk supply then you either need to A. Start feeding your LO more often or B. pump inbetween feedings. If she is going through a growth spurt, that means that your production needs to increase which means instead of feeding every 3 or 4 hours, you may need to feed every 2 hours, or feed and then pump and hour or so later, so that your body keeps getting the signal that it needs to produce more....the less you pump or feed, the less your body will produce.

and you have to have PLENTY of calories and LOTS of water to be able to increase your milk. (I've just gone through the same problem). It will get better!

Thanks ladies...seems better today, I'm going to start pumping about 2/3 bottles a day, she is def. eating more, and I like to have one or two bottles on hand in the fridge as well. :)
