i have a question...when i pump, i only get 3 or 4 ounces of milk at a time, and i have to pump for ever to get that. when my dd is bf, she gets so much more, it runs out of her mouth, and some times when the milk lets down, she even gags on it...i don't understand why. i have even tried doing it at diffierent times of day...if any one can give advice that would be great...thanks!!

I dont have any advice I just wanted to tell you that I am in exactly the same situation. Sometimes I cant even get 3-4 ounces when I pump but when my dd eats she gulps it down really fast.

I can only get about 2 ounces (in ten minutes), so 3 or 4 seems good. The trick I found is that I let her drink in one b___st, while I pump the other b___st...it stimulates my b___st, so the milk comes out faster. my baby is four weeks, some of my friends told me it works better as you go.

I think that is normal. I would get 6 oz. per pumping session but that was when he was more like 6 months. When I first started pumping I would only get a few ounces. I would normally wait at least 4 hours before pumping to allow my milk supply to fill back up. That worked best for me.

thanks so much. psychology- i tried doing it your way, and it did come out faster, but i still only got 4 oz..... i guess its normal, she seems happy with it ....i am just a little paranoid i guess.
