My baby is 2 weeks old now.. and so so so much to learn!!! It is overwhelming at times.. but I'll make it.. we'll make it!! Here is my question.. : A couple days ago my br___ts were so big and swollen.. It felt like they were exploding w/ milk.. It was obvious that there was an abundant supply.. or too much.. Now instead they arent that full. They are softer and I'm wondering if I'm drying up.. Or is it my body regulating to my baby's demand? It just seems that in comparison to a couple days ago the supply is not as noticeable!! Anyone have a similar experience>??

Hi, Yeah, Sometimes that happens. Your body is just adjusting to supply and demand. I know my baby doesn't eat the same amout everyday, it depends how much she sleeps.

i am 30 weeks but plan to b___stfeed also. I was told by a friend that she would pump regularly along with feedings to keep her supply flowing regularly and it helped cuz she also feared drying up.

KRC That is not what you should do at all. The baby alone is all you need to tell your body to produce milk. If you pump along with b___stfeeding for no reason then you will have an over supply which is not good. You shouldnt have a fear of drying up at all. As long as your baby nurses then your body will produce milk as needed! To MayaB, Your body is just regulating which is normal. It would not be normal for your b___sts to be engorged at all times you know. They will start to feel softer and more comfortable. Also check out kellymom.com which will answer tons of b___stfeeding ?'s.

Sounds to me like your supply is evening out. It's very good to NOT be engorged -- means your baby is able to keep up with your supply. That's great. You are doing well!! You're doing fine :)
