Moving On To Milk

My baby is 9 months old. She never would take a bottle, so has been excusively br___tfed (no formula), except for a few ounces of expressed milk twice a day in a sippy cup at school (I nurse her at noon). She has a great appet_te for table food and has had a little juice and water in a cup (she loves water). Ok, so the question is that I have been producing less when pumping for a while and am close to the point that I need to figure out what she will have when I'm not there. I really don't want her to have formula. Has anyone started their baby on cow's milk early? I know we're supposed to wait until a year and I plan to ask the pediatrician next week, but am wondering if others have done this. She has eaten quite a few dairy products without reaction and would only be having a few ounces per day, mainly to quench thirst with her table-food meals. Any advice?

I waited until a year to give him cows milk. I would continue formula if it wasn't so expensive. I think it has more of what they need than cows milk does. Let us know what your doctor suggests.

the dairy that's in cheese and yogurt is processed in a way that doesn't irritate babies. Formula has stuff that breaks down the milk. I had the same hang up with formula but at least it has vitamins and is more tailored to the little ones. My 9 month old is now getting a few bottles of formula - Baby's Only Organic - and I just had to get rid of my hang ups about formula b/c he loves it!!

I went to the ped yesterday. He said it is fine to start cow's milk to supplement. The only thing is that she needs to also have a multi-vitamin with iron to prevent anemia. She hasn't even had any yet, though. I think not stressing about it has allowed me to pump more milk than I have been recently!
