Pregnant And Have A 4 Month Old Looking For Advice

I have a 4 month old who I am br___tfeeding. I just took a pregnancy test b/c I started feeling the "morning sickness" and the test was positive. I am a little freaked because we didnt plan on getting pregnant this soon. We have been using protection but not consistently, here I thought we would never get pregnant so fast. Is anyone else in the same boat? Or has anyone had children this close together? Any advice? Thanks! - Lindsay

A friend of mine got pregnant with a 3 month old; however, she wasn't b___stfeeding. The first thing I would do is find a lactation consultant, to find out how this pregnancy will affect your milk supply.

My mom got pregnant for my brother when i was 4 months old (same exact situation as you) She said that it was the hardest pregnancy (she had 3 of us this was her last) She wanted to have 4 but decided not to after this pregnancy. It was hard being pregnant and carrying around an infant all the time. I have a 15 month old and am 14 weeks pregnant, and its rought either way.... I think the 2nd pregnancy is always harder because you have another person to take care of 24/7. Good luck!! and Congrats!

The biggest problem I would worry about is supply. I have a 19 month old, and I'm 12 weeks into another pregnancy, and it has whacked my supply. It really started to drop when I was about 5-6 weeks. If your baby doesn't seem to be getting enough or is always hungry, you may end up supplementing. Most of their nutrition for the first year should come from b___stmilk or formula, not solids (so trying to start those early isn't going to help you. The first year is basically practice food.) Good luck!

Try lalecheleague.com or kellymom.com they will be better at accurate info than me. Sorry I'm no help and good luck!

Oh, wow! COngratulations, Lindsay. I hope everything works out OK. My mom's best friend had three boys, each a year apart, and they were all playmates growing up. So even though I've never done it, it seemed like a pretty positive thing in their lives.
