Skin Tag On Right Nipple Can I Still Breastfeed

Ok, I've had this skin tag on my right nipple ever since I was little and it has come off a time or two over the years. I went for my OB appt. yesterday and totally forgot to ask about it. I will at my next appt., but I wanted to see if any of you have experienced this. Should I have it removed?

I'd ask. It could be fine, it could get irritated and larger or bleed while nursing, or there could be a way to have it removed permanently. But GOOD FOR YOU for thinking about nursing!!

I have one too - on the left side. I asked my doctor and he said it was superficial and nothing to worry about. It will not hurt the baby or get in the way of the task. You can have it removed if it really bothers you. I never had this - that is - until I was pregnant.

Hi, I think I may have one of these things too - It is a squishy nipple coloured thing about the size of a pea and it came a few weeks after I found out I was pg, Is this what they are like or do you think it is something else??

I had one on my aerola (developed as a result of pregnancy) and asked my doctor about it during a visit. Originally we planned to remove it while I was in the hospital, but we forgot. I have been nursing, and honestly, from the friction of the baby, it weakened down to nothing and I pinched it off. But overall, you should consult your doctor. Mine was NOT on the nipple as you are stating yours is. Good luck.
