Spit Up Question

This morning I fed my daughter (7 weeks), and burped her etc etc. She slept for like an hour or so. After she woke up and I changed her, she threw up ( a fair amount) and it smelled a bit like vomit. Any idea why she would throw up so long after being fed? She did this last Sat. too. I can' t remember if I posted this question before or not.....

It happens. If she's gaining well, not crying a lot and otherwise seems happy, don't stress about it. I was lucky in that my DS didn't throw up a lot, even though he had acid reflux. But the kid I babysit spit up constantly until just a few weeks ago, and he's now 9 months old. Who knows. You could ask your doctor.

She probably threw up because she's moving her arms and legs more now. Just being active does that to a little baby.

I'm not overly worried because she doesn't do it very often. I think the fact that it wasn't just a wet burp had me worried, that and the vomit-y smell.... I will ask our Dr though....

Hi, I would guess that the spit up smelled bad because it was an hour after feeding, so the milk was mixed with stomach acid.

My daughter hasbeen doing that since she was born usually an hour after feeding she wil spit up. After it gets further into the digestive system it smells worse and is more curdled. If she is gaining I would not worry and also she is most likely moving around more than when she was younger and upsetting her little belly
