Thinking Caps I Need You Girls

If I have to have a biopsy done this week, how can I still pump? I am not opposed to trying to pump or nurse even if it hurts because I figure if I don't there will be more pain from "blowing up". My question is...how can I get suction if there is a bandage? Can you girls think of anything I could put OVER the bandage that would act like skin so the suction of the pump still work?

Hmmm. Well, I suppose it depends on where the biopsy is. When I had one done on my lymph nodes a few years back, it was at about 11:00 o'clock (looking in the mirror), and about halfway between my armpit and the nipple. My cut was about 1" long and they used tape instead of st_tches, but I would have been able to use the pump, so hopefully you will too! The incision just needs to be completely in or completely outside of the flange. They slapped a big bandage on top of the incision, but I only kept it there until the next day, and then a band-aid sufficed. Good luck!

Thank you. They are not going to completely remove the lump at this point...going to do a small biopsy and see what we are dealing with. I think I should be able to pump. He did say I may have some blood in my milk from that side so I will probably have to toss from that side!
