How Much Can You Lift

I had a c-section two weeks ago and I don't know how much I can lift. I am supposed to take my baby to the Dr. in the morning and I don't know if I can lift him in the carrier. Anyone know?

You can lift your baby in the carrier unless the doctor specifically told you not to lift anything at all. Usually they don't like you to lift anything over 10-20 lbs the first few weeks so you won't b__w your incision (either inside or out). I suggest you put the car seat in the car and carry your baby yourself into the office...if that's not practical just be careful, hold the car seat as close to you as possible when walking and use your legs when lifting and setting down. Hope you are recovering ok and that your baby is doing well. Congrats!

I was told after my c-sections not to lift anything heavier than the baby (without the carrier). Of course, that's not always practical. Just lift carefully and listen to your body-you'll know if you're doing too much too soon.

Be cautious about lifting. I lifted my daugther in the carrier about 2 weeks after mine and it hurt. So just be careful and listen to your body.
