Pulled Rib Muscle Will I Have To Do A C Section

I am 39 weeks, ripe and ready, having contractions off and on. I had a severe cough which is now bothered by wildfire smoke (New Mexico) and I think I pulled a rib muscle. The pain is acute, to the point of seeing stars and thinking I'll faint when I move in certain ways. I fear I have lost my ability to push, has anyone else had this at birthing? This is my 2nd pregnancy, I know what it takes. Was hoping for another vag birth, but it's been 4 days of tylenol and ice packs and bed rest with no improvement. Am I headed for the OR? sasamama

Well, no one has responded, so I'll tell you what my docs said today. They said they can give me painkillers that will keep me from feeling it and we will still try to go the vag birth route. She stripped my membranes hoping to induce labor with my own juices, but if it doesn't crank up on its own, we induce in 2 days. I'm not eager for the hospital experience, but mine has been a high risk pregnancy and it will be a relief to see my son at the end of all this. Wish me luck!

I hope your delivery is uneventful and I wish you the best. I am sorry you had the pulled rib muscle.
