Nuts During Pregnancy

Hi - I was hoping I could get some thoughts on this. I love nuts but have been trying to avoid them until I can get some comfort with this question. We have no asthma history, but I do have hay fever, and was slightly allergic to peanuts as a kid (my chin would break out right after I ate them). I have since outgrown the allergy. So I can maybe live without peanuts - I have never developed a taste for peanut butter, but what about other nuts? Also, does anyone have good nut subst_tutes?

I have a lot of food allergies, and my OB has been encouraging eating lots of nuts.

I have a daughter with peanut allergies and have been told to avoid them during this pregnancy. I have been eating other nuts, tho not a lot. There seems to be a connection between eating peanuts and your child developing this allergy, so especially if you or someone in your family has peanut allergies don't eat them during pregnancy.

I was told the opposite. I have numerous allergies, and was told to eat nuts MINIMALLY but to make sure I get some so that baby has a little exposure. Otherwise the idea is that its the sudden introduction of a peanut/other nut when there was no previous exposure that causes the reaction. Basicly eat some, not lots. Its like building an immunity to a virus, you have to be exposed to it??? Im not sure??? I found some info on the Mayo Clinics website, Id google that. I sure want to avoid pa__sing my allergies on too!!!
