5 Weeks With Cramps

I am only about 5 weeks pregnant, I just found out a couple of days ago and haven't made it to the doctor yet. Every once in a while I will get a cramp that feels almost like menstrual cramps that is pretty painful but then it goes away. I haven't had any bleeding or anything but I was just wondering if this seems normal. I am terrified that something will happen to my baby!

Hi I am almost 6 weeks pregnany now and I have also been having the same cramp like feelings and as this is my first pregnancy its hard to know what is normal or not. I have been to see the doc and midwife yesterday and she said as long as it doesn become unbearable and there is no bleeding then its fine. Seems to be fairly common as I have read lots of womens comments on here about cramps at 4-8 weeks and further. Good luck

hey girls i am 5 weeks and also have had cramping. some cramping during the day but its not bad at all and at night for some reason between 11-3 i get really bad cramps. they last about 15 min and then go away. i called the doc also and she said cramping is normal. it is just your uterus contracting and stretching. she said severe cramping (without bleeding) could be due to intercourse (if you have had any since youve been pg) OR dehydration!! you should be drinking at LEAST a gallon of water a day. i know its hard, i live in az so everyone is always dehydrated but its really important!
