Is it a must that you should sleep on the side when you are pregnant? I am around 18th week and barely show, I think because of that reason (small belly) I still feel comfortable sleeping on my back. As the matter of fact sleeping on the side hurt my neck and shoulder. What are your experiences?

its not a must at all.. its encouraged because it maximizes blood flow and takes pressure off blood vessels in your back. however if you are comfortable sleeping on your back then do it.. Im 36 weeks and I still do. your body is amazing and if it senses a problem you will shift in your sleep. if you happen to wake up and feel light headed or numb anywhere then you probably shouldn't sleep on your back anymore, but if you wake up with no problems then chances are you are fine. also, you dont HAVE to sleep on your side opposed to your back you can just sort of prop up one side slightly so you arent on your back but you aren't totally on your side either, like laying half way on a pillow or something... that works for some people.. others find it annoying lol good luck. :) congrats on your pregnancy.

I'm only 9w4d, and I'm having problems sleeping comfortably. My neck gets a crick in it if I sleep on my side too long. I've actually slept in the recliner in our living room twice. It was actually really comfy, and I woke up feeling refreshed.
