10 Weeks Today Amp Wondering If Others Have The Same Symptoms

I am 10 weeks but really don't feel like I'm pregnant. The only differences I've noticed are: I have become very lazy and don't want to do anything after school or work and I have been eating and eating. My normally loose pants are very tight and my chest has become a lot bigger. I just feel fat. Is anybody else gaining weight this early? If not, do you have any suggestions? Also, how do the prenantal vitamins make you feel? My tummy is constantly doing weird things.

Hi Cal. I'm also 10 weeks right now, and haven't had any severe symptoms - mild nausea, mild dizziness...nothing too bad. I've gained around 7lbs, although I was underweight before and was barely eating, so doctor says this is a healthy gain. I have found that I'm hungry more often, so I am eating more regularly...but I'm not able to eat very much in one go so I think it's sort of evened out. I'm being healthy but still seem to be putting on a fair bit of weight. My b___bs have gone up 3 cup sizes, I'm very emotional, and I get extremely tired early on in the evenings - usually end up falling asleep on the sofa! I've noticed my clothes are a little tighter, but I'm majorly bloated at the moment - belly is sticking out a mile. How are you feeling about your pregnancy/about yourself right now?

Good...I'm glad I'm not the only one. I keep reading things that say you won't start putting on weight until the 2nd trimester. I'm really excited about my pregnancy! This will be a honeymoon baby, so it's a little earlier than planned but I am just so happy I can have a baby (it seems like everyone is having problems these days). My husband and I were practicing natural family planning--it works by keeping a chart of your cycles, including most fertile and infertile days. We began this program before I got married so I would use it properly after the honeymoon. However, since we started charting, my cycles were very crazy. I always knew they were alittle off but now I could see it on paper. Obviously my cycle was REALLY off after the honeymoon so I was going to set up an appt to make sure nothing as wrong. I thought something was going on that would stop me from having kids. Just to make sure, I took a pg test, and another one, and a third one after that. I was pregnant. I haven't told anyone yet and that is hard. I'm waiting until my first appt Oct 19. Then we'll surprise our families! How about you? Were you trying or was it a nice surprise also?

I'm 11 1/2 weeks and I've only had mild s/s so far. Mild nausea, appet_te change, tired, etc... I don't think I've gained any weight, but my tummy is already popping out. I can no longer wear my skinny jeans. I wish I could say my b___bs have gotten bigger, but they haven't. My husband and I were trying for a baby, but still surprised when we found out. My md kept telling me I wasn't pregnant when I really was. This will be our first and we're both very excited! Congrats on both your pregnancies Cal and Kal!

Nicole - October 13

hi everyone I am 9 weeks and have gained 7lbs. I am very nausaus but not vomiting and I am so exhausted I feel like a bum I just lay on the couch when I get home at night. I never thought I could be this tired. pregnant women should not be allowed to work!!!

Kal - October 13

Hey Cal, no we weren't trying but it was a nice suprise!! We've got our first antenatal appointment on 24th October, so will be able to take a peek at the bean...I'm so excited! This will be our first so we're both very nervous, and I've found myself attaching importance to every twinge (never before has gas been so frightening...even worse, I've developed sciatica so every now and again have excruciating pain in my back, bumcheeks and legs...really makes me panic) Weirdly, we were doing the same thing with charting my cycles - and even weirder, we were both so knackered that we actually only had s_x TWICE in the month we conceived, and I was convinced we were 'safe'...I think this baby was meant to be!!! Chantel - I know how you feel, I feel revolting at the moment...like a big spotty piece of fat. I'm a UK size 8...so why do I feel so fat? It makes no sense! Is anyone else feeling really ga__sy at the moment? Seems any semblance of being a lady has gone right out of the window.... It's great to talk to people who are at the same stage

chantel - October 13

ga__sy ha!!! A couple days ago the great mother in law came up to me and said your belly is way to big seeing your only 2 months....i felt super horrible and fat....then i came to realize i was extremly ga__sy..my upper abdomen already is hard but that day is was rock solid! U guys only had s_x twice that month lol..sounds like us...seems like we try for only 3 weeks and im pregnant again...this is my last though

Nicole - October 14

Kal- I to am extremely ga__sy it is embara__sing. I also have chronic upper and lower back pain so I can symphatize w/ you.

Valerie - October 14

I am so with you, on all counts! I'm 9 and 1/2 weeks along, 2nd pregnancy. I seem to have past the worst of the fatigue now but I've been really ga__sy, constant indegestion, and my fat pants are tight. My chest has definitely gotten bigger, I'll need some new bras very soon. I don't keep a scale in my house, I was doing weight watchers before I got pregnant and tied to rely on their scales to monitor myself. Now I don't know how much i have gained but I think it's between 5-7 lbs. I feel very fat, enough to get so irritable last night my husband didn't know what to do with me. I was really upset since my cloths are getting so tight, and I dread wearing maternity clothes this early. People can be cruel, especially mother-in-laws and female co-worker, I could just hear what they would be saying if I wore maternity clothes this early!! I realize though that some of it is gas, and although I am watching what I am eating, weight gain is for the baby. It doesn't help that I only got to lose half of what my goal was at weight watchers, so as I feel bloated and get bigger, I just look as though I have a fat pot belly, a big one!! It definitely felt better to read all your comments. Thanks, I feel like I'm not alone at this, unlike last night! lol

chantel - October 14

hey val i know what your sayin i was also doing ww before getting preggo....before my daughter was born it was atkins.....i wasnt anywhere near my goal and boom..pregnant....thats ok i guess it all works out seeing this is my last im gonna enjoy it all...after he or she is born its diet time..but this time for good cause i wont be having more kids!!

Valerie - October 14

Your right Chantel. This could be my last, I should enjoy it and not worry. I have the time to lose it all afterwards. I just hate to wear maternity clothes at 10 weeks! It's funny. I lost 20 lbs on WW and then got pg for my 1st child. I got back on WW and lost 35 lbs. Now that I think of it, I weighed the exact same both times I got pg......must be my lucky number! lol

Nicole - October 14

Valerie and Chantel- I just lost 50 lbs on ww and am now preggo. I gained 7 lbs so far and my clothes are definatley getting tight. valerie don't worry about what other people say about maternity clothes enjoy your pregnancy and don't let other people's comments bother you, eat and be happy.

Cal - October 14

So....where is a good place to buy maternity clothes? Target maybe? This weekend my husband and are are shopping for elastic pants (for me, of course). I can't stand my fat pants rubbing on my waist any more! I thought I would have a least a few more months until i had to get maternity clothes. My first appt is 10/19 so she'll be able to tell me if I'm doing okay weight wise. I'm so excited....I'll feel more preg when i get to see the doctor. To those who have had kids....when do I get to start buying baby stuff?

chantel - October 14

hey cal...u start as soon as u have permission from the hubby lol..i still dont urghhhh well walmart has a new line of maternity clothes but me myself im a bargain shopper and prefer ebay ...i gave my sis in law all my maternity clothes last year to borrow and she gave them away...so i have nothing..which is c___ppy cause this is my last baby and i dont wanna have to go out and by a whole new line of clothes for just one pregnancy...so hello ebay! I figured out something im gonna try this pregnancy ....that is not look at the scale when they weigh me...they usually dont read it out loud and i rather not know what i am gaining and just take things as they come!

Valerie - October 17

Cal, I'm a bargain shopper too. I got a lot of my clothes from 2nd hand shops like Once Upon a Child. WHat they sell second hand looks brand new to me and I get tops from1-3.99 and pants from 2-5.99. I also get great clothes from, my son....toys too. Get a look in the phone book and see if there are any second hand maternity and baby stores, they don't always advertise they have maternity ware, so you may want to call. I found some good buys at yard sales too, just not as good a shape. With the money I saved I was able to get a few new dressy outfits without breaking the bank. Funny, my 1st appmt is 10/19 also. I feel the same, I don't feel very preggo yet, but I definitely will then I think. I'm definitely calming down about what other people think. It takes some reminders sometimes but I definitely feel more comfortable now and know what is really important. Shopping for baby stuff!! lol
