I was told that I was 8weeks pregnant from my doctor and I had an ultrasound done today and they told me that I was only four weeks, how can they be so wrong? can that happen or is there something wrong?

U could have ovulated very late. That's my guess anyway.

maybe the first period you missed was due to a hormone inbalance, and then you caught the 2nd month?

Well your doctor isnt always sure, that date is there for like just an example. They really tell you when you go for a ultrasound as they can tell by the size of the feotus in the sac. Your doctor didnt see your scan or did he. Other than that thats a horrible b__w back but it will go in quick for you. Just take it easy

Your doctor bases your estimated due date on the first day of your last period, this does not necessarily mean that is when you conceived, it merely is the most accurate way for the doctors to keep up with this, if your ultrasound said 4 weeks, then that is probably the more accurate one. Did they change your due date or are they going to follow up with more ultrasounds?
