Hi Ladies....I am 11 weeks pregnant, and I have been feeling little flutter movements for the past few days. I KNOW it's not gas, I know what gas feels like, and this is NOT gas. I know somebody will try to tell me that it is, but it's not, i know my body...it feels like a little butterfly is fluttering around deep on my right side...i'm curious to know has any other ladies felt these fluttering movements, and when did you feel them for the first time...how far along were you? thank you...

Patreasa - I'm so happy you posted this because I have the same question! I'm 12 wks as of tomorrow and today for the first time I felt a weird little bubbly thing for a few seconds. Right in the middle, way down low past my navel. But the weird thing is it wasn't in back like gas would be, but right up front. Almost felt like it was right under the skin. I can't imagine it's the baby yet - so soon?! I know you're not supposed to feel anything until at least 16 wks... but what else could this be? It happened right after I ate an apple - maybe the sugar woke the baby up? It's really exciting! I'd love to hear other women's stories to confirm or tell me I'm just crazy. :)

with my youngest child when i was pregnant i felt flutters at 12 weeks .she was my 6th child i dont really remember with my others but i think all women are different and it probably has something to do with how baby is positioned.and yes the first feelings are like flutters or bubbles .happy baby bakingx

To you ladies: - October 11

There is no way that is your baby at 11 and 12 weeks, Sorry to burst your bubble but the baby is way to small to be felt at this point.

sharron - October 11

after having six children i think would know the feeling so im sorry to burst your bubble but yes it is possible

To sharon - October 11

It is not physically possible. You may think you are feeling it but its probablly gas . Sharron I am not trying to aregue with you but it is not medically possible.

Thanks for the input ladies! Either way, if it is or isn't, it still is an exciting time!

You probably won't feel your baby kick until sometime between 16 and 22 weeks, even though he started moving at 7 or 8 weeks and you may have already witnessed his acrobatics if you've had an ultrasound. Veteran moms tend to notice those first subtle kicks — also known as "quickening" — earlier than first-time moms. (A woman who's been pregnant before can more easily distinguish her baby's kick from other belly rumblings, such as gas.) Your build may also have something to do with when you'll be able to tell a left jab from a hunger pang; thinner women tend to feel movement earlier and more often than women who carry more weight. just found this hope it helps.

im not arguing either but i dont want my FIRSTS of anything about my children taken away from me .it is medically possible as the above stated just thought i had to put point across

To sharron - October 11

Sharon that information is already known to most. But again not at 11 or 12 weeks. Do some more research and you will figure that out. I do believe YOU will be able to recognize a kick earlier but still not at 11 or 12 weeks. Sorry again.

Hi Ladies,---I think its kinda funny that people debate this because everyones body/pregnancy is different. I, too, yesterday in the evening felt little flutters after having an apple and a french bread pizza. I am 11 weeks, with my second, as well. It caught me way off guard at first but I'll tell you I have never had gas "flutterings" like that!! Its just like Patreasa said...little b___terfly effect, feels so weird!

Thanks for all your input Sharron. I am on the thin side - 5'5 and 120lbs pre-pg, 124 now (in wk 13). This is my first, however, so I'm not entirely sure what to feel for, but the movement yesterday was unlike anything ever before. :)

Yes, it is possible to feel the baby this early. It's called quickening. Although, typically felt around the 18-20 week of pregnancy-it can be felt as early as the tenth week. It's often described as bubbly or fluttering feeling in the lower abdomen. Trust me. I'm a nurse and this info. comes from my medical textbooks. Ladies, enjoy this exciting time of feeling your baby's first movement and don't let other's comments bring you down!
