Anyone Have High Hcg And Progesterone Levels Early On

Hi. I am pregnant following a m/c and d&c in Feb. My guess is that I conceived around March 19, which would put me at about 4 wks along. I had blood work done to test my hormone levels last Wednesday and Friday (which would be week 3) and hcg came back at 287 and then in the 900's and my prog. was 51 and then 57, which are high if I did in fact conceive on the the 19th. Has anyone had high levels that early on? I guess that maybe I could have conceived earlier than I thought. My Dr says since numbers are rising like they should, everything looks good. I have my 1st u/s on the 17th. Can't wait.

Hi Andy, how long after the 287 was it in the 900's? I am starting my 6 week and last Wednesday when i went for my HCG level test it was at 405, it does seem a little hight for 4 weeks. i was talking to my Dr. and he said i was about average at 5 weeks. The reason why i had asked him is because i have twins on my mom's side of the family and my spouse has twins on both sides of his family. I would ask to do a nother test, you should only double every 24 to 48 hours you seem to be tripleing. Let me know though.. Twins may be the answer to your question. I hope i am not scaring you. IF you like type in HCG levels during pregnancy in your search and it should bring up the average, for most woman. I looked at it last week, but i can't remember the numbers.....good luck keep us posted

Hi tndrlvn, thanks for responding! First of all, congrats on your pregnancy, is it your first? Also, how soon were you able to get a positive pregnancy test? I think mine was only 9 days after ovulation, which is pretty early to detect. I am really starting to wonder if I am a little further along that I originally thought. I have not had a period since Dec 19th due to having an early m/c and then a d&c back in Feb. My ovulation and conception date is all a guess at this point. I started paying attention to ovulation signs and thought it happened on the 19th of March, which would have put me in week 3 when tested last week. My tests were done 2 days apart. Also, thanks for the website link. I have looked at many of them and still think I am either on the very high end or higher depending on which chart I look at.

I think you must be further along that you think looking at those numbers, unless you're having twins or more (!), but it could be totally normal for you. Your u/s will determine for sure how far along you are. I wouldn't worry. Your numbers are going up, and that's what's important. Congratulations!

Thanks Susan. I really think I hit the nail on the head w/ my ovulation date, especially since I had what was like implantation spotting (brownish pink) the day before my BFP and a couple days before I had my levels tested. I guess I could have it wrong though. My u/s isn't until the 17th so guess I have to wait until then to find out. I can't help but worry after the m/c, which I am sure you can relate! Another question, my Dr put me on progesterone (Prometrium orally) before my levels were checked and was just told I don't really need them anymore, but could continue to take if it made me feel better. Do you or anyone know if they can cause a dark yellowish color discharge or is that normal w/ being pregnant? My first pregnancy was almost 3 yrs ago and, since I had no complications, I don't remeber any of this! Hope you pregnancy is still going well Susan and thanks for responding!
