I was wondering if it's normal to get lower back pains in pregnancy?? I am only 8 weeks along.. Is this normal? Has anyone else had lower back pains in early pregnancy and had a healthy pregnancy and baby?? Thanks to all who respond..

I am 10 weeks and I had back pains VERY early on--maybe 2 weeks. Now, I have this weird sharp back pain on one side that goes almost down to my b___t. I think it's some nerve I read about somewhere, but I'm not sure. I'll bet you are just fine!!

I started sleeping with a maternity pillow in my first trimester and that seemed to help. Also putting a pillow between your legs might help a lot and may be worth trying. I'm 16 wks now and things are going fine!

I'm 12 weeks now and have had this back pain since before I even found out I was pregnant. You may have a tilted uterus, like I do, which means that your uterus is tilted towards your back and resting on the siatic nerve! Hopefully as pregnancy progresses and uterus moves up the back bain will go away!

10w. Constant nagging lower back pain that I've had since around 7 weeks. The doctor tells me everything looks good and that this is normal. njinco; I also have the occasional sharp pain on one side, which sounds like what you have as well.
