When I woke up this morning, I had a bit of bright pink, kind of translucent spotting...not bright red blood or clots or anything...what is this though at 8 weeks? I'm worried!

Don't panic, though! This is one of those cases it could be nothing but it also could be something. Don't get too upset, just check to make sure its one of those nothings.

HI everyone, Thanks for responding...THis exact thing has happened 3 times already in the past 4 weeks...everything stopped, no spotting or flow or cramps by noon, so my doctor said not to worry...jstu relax and hang in there...(easy for him to say) He said as long as it's pink and not dark red don't worry too much, could be alittle tear in the uterus as it's expanding...since this has happend a few times in the past few weeks, and I had a good u/s last week he said not to worry ? !

Cathy2, I had the exact same thing happen last weekend. I'm now almost 9 weeks. It's very scary. But my dr said the same thing as yours. As long as it's not a lot of blood, and as long as it's not red it's not usually anything to worry about. Brown & even pink blood is older blood. He had me go on bed rest the entire weekend & by Monday I was fine to go to work. In fact I had an u/s anyway scheduled for Mon. (2/12) & it showed a very healthy, growing bean with a strong h/b. My dr said cervix irritation is common in early pg he thought perhaps that was why I was spotting pink then brown. So anyway, hang in there. Sounds like both our litte beans are doing well. I hope the spotting is gone for good for you & for me too. Good riddence! Oh and another thing I read, is one theory as to why some women get spotting around week 8 is something to do with the menstrual cycle, that's when normally they'd have another period if they weren't pg. Not sure if that's really true, but an interesting theory I thought.
