Blithed Ovum

I was told that I am pregnant on the 6th of Feb. and that I was probably around 6 weeks. On the 18th, I went and had a sonogram and the doctor could not find anything in the sac, am I having a miscarriage? I have to go back next Friday, and I just want to know my chances of having this baby. Please give me some advice.`

Shanda, I too had a sonogram around 7 weeks and they did not see anything (not even v____ally). I went again for another sonogram at 9 weeks and they could see the baby then, remember the embryo is very small and two weeks makes a huge difference in size. Blighted Ovum's are very rare. Your chance does increase with age. I would recommend not worrying and just waiting for your second sonogram.

I also went to the ER because of v____al bleeding and cramping. I had a v____al ultrasound and the doctor told me that I had a blithed ovum. He told me that my hormone levels were too high and at 7 weeks all they saw was a sac. I go back for an ultra sound in 3 days, and I am hoping that they see something.
