Blood Test Results

Hi, I just found out I'm pregnant last week and I went in for a blood test as well. My results from the doctor will return next Monday. My question is would the doctor be able to tell me my hcg level and how many weeks I'm pregnant??? I've read a lot of different things where women at 7 weeks are at 2550 hcg. Curious to know if they can tell at 4 weeks. And if so what's considered to be normal?

Hi Dani....First off, Congradulations with your pregnancy!!! I'm very happy for you. Just wondering if you had your results from your blood tests yet?? How did you find out about your pregnancy? Was it a HPT, if so, was it strongly positive or faintly positive? I'm just asking because I'm almost 17 days late, had 3 HPT faint positive results this week, but blood tests and Dr.'s urine test were both negative on Friday....I just want to compare so I can find out what's going on in my case....i'm confused!!!

No, the doctors cannot tell you how far along you are by hcg levels. The "normal" levels vary widely in every pregnancy. They can do a sono around 6 weeks and date your pregnancy that way. Are you periods really irregular?
