Buying Maternity Clothes

Hello I am 11 weeks and I've already had to purchase maternity clothes. At first I thought maybe I was just gaining weight, but my stomach is so protruding. I know my body...I didn't have a wash-board stomach at first, but it surely didn't look like this. This is my second pregnancy (1st ended in a miscarriage) and I heard that after your 1st pregnancy you show sooner. Are any of you starting to show so soon.

When did your first pregnancy end? If it was late then yes you could very well be showing this early, but if it was before you really show like before 24wks, then chances are you're just experiencing lots of bloating and gas.

Hi Stacy ... I am only 5 weeks and my pants are already too tight, I had to dig out my maternity clothes, but I feel funny wearing them already, so sticking to wearing jogging pants and elastic waists.

yea i was thinking theyre both bloated. Ur babies are both less than a centimeter in length and ur uterous is still around at ur pubic hair level. Try stretch pants for a few more weeks and ull be fine. I dindt start wearing actualy maternity clothes till week 20. Stretch marks were fine till then

Order a BellaBand. It's a stretchy tube-top thing that allows you to wear your regular clothes unfastened and smooths out the lumps. It seriously works. Love it.

I was so bloated from 8-11 weeks too :) Now I'm 16wks and haven't really grown much. Still bloated, and starting to get a bump, but nothing a stranger would notice yet.

i think for everyone its different... cause i know someone at the same exact point as me-10wks.- and she is already showing... im kinda bloated and feel fat... and thats why i already have the maternity pants, cause they are just more compfy and dont make me feel squeezed and like im gonna hurl all the time. but i think people show different times just depending on what type of body they have...

I'm 12 week's with my 2nd pregnancy and I am already starting to show. With my first I didn't start wearing maternity clothes until around 20 weeks though. Now most of my pants are getting too tight even though i've actually lost 14 pounds from morning sickness.

yea. your 2nd pregnancy u can show sooner because ur uterous is already used to stretching and stuff. I lost about 15 pounds iwht my morning sickness too. It was horrible

Everyone knows there body I would a__sume. Rather you're bloated with excess gas or actually showing. I find that maternity clothes are very comfortable and you can't tell that they're maternity, well what I've bought. It's funny to me how many woman say they didn't start to show until they were 5, 6, 7 months pregnant and look at other women stupid if there 3 or 4 months pregnant for wearing maternity or even thinking their showing...lol! Everyone's pregnancy is different and I just wanted to know if anyone else started to showing early.

Stacy I think a woman should start wearing maternity clothes whenever she feel's comfortable. I've seen women in their first pregnancy show early. I think it has alot to do with genetics. My son's teacher is 25 weeks pregnant with her 2nd, she's a very small woman and yet you can't tell she's pregnant at all. We all start showing at different rates.

Here's a couple sites that I think are pretty neat that show pregnant belly's. (Remember to take out any --) http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregnancyphotos/l/blbellyindex.htm and the 2nd one is.... http://www.yourpregnancyplace.com/bellypics.htm

Celia I agree...thanks for the sites.

Celia again thanks for the sites. I just viewed them both and they are great. I don't feel so silly after all.

Celia - April 18

Your very welcome Stacy :-) You shouldn't feel silly at all! You know your body and you can tell when your starting to show. Don't ever let anyone make you feel silly about it!
