does anyone know if the chances of miscarriage goes down as you get further along? my doc said after he hears the heart beat it goes down to 3% at about 11w. i'm just wondering if the percentage goes down from 5-11 w or if it is high the whole time?

KSM I WAS IN YOUR BOAT. I MISCARRIED IN 8/06 AT NINE WEEKS AND NOW I HAD ANOTHER U/S TODAY AT 10W1D AND HEATBEAT IS STRONG. I THINK THE BABY WAS DANCING AT THE TIME OF U/S! BUT I BELIEVE I HAVE A GOOD CHANCE JUST KEEP POSITIVE.

At the beggining of the 13 week you enter the second trimester and your risk of miscarriage decreases. This is when the placenta fully takes over its function and therefore the risk that something is wrong with the placenta and where the baby gets it nourishment decreases.
