Change In Texture Of Hair And Scalp

Hey girls~ Has anyone noticed a change in the texture of their hair or had any problem with dry itchy scalp? I'm 10 1/2 weeks and my hair seems to be very dry and my scalp is really itchy. I changed shampoo a while back so I'm not sure if that's causing it or just changes with my body.

I am 10 weeks and I have noticed that my hair feels heavier and thicker.. I haven't noticed my scalp being itchy. But i definitely feel the change in the hair!!

I have naturally curly hair, and I can tell that I'm losing a little bit of my curl, and my hair has more frizz to it. I think I'll try changing the shampoo and see what happens. Thanks! Is this your first Kristin?

Lori, It is my first, is it your first?. And you know, I think my hair has a little bit more frizz to it too... I have wavy hair, but straighten it, but it does not sit so straight on my head anymore after I straighten it, like there is just more to it and it does not want to listen! ha, I have several shampoos that I use and I get the same results with all of them. Go figure.

Thats weird mine is doing it too. I have semi-wavy hair but straighten it in the morning. It is usually really shiney and healthy looking, but now its like really dry and not really shiny at all. Also my scalp gets really greasey and thats weird too. But I read that your skin will do either or. Like if you have normally oily skin it might get oilier and vice versa. If you have dry scalp just be sure to use a very moisturizing shampoo and conditioner combo and it should help a little.

Yes, this is my first. And so far, b___st tenderness, breakouts on face, back and chest and dry scalp & frizz has been my only symptoms. I've been fortunate not to have any morning sickness or nausea. How about you?

Lori - March 10

Thanks Robyn. I think I'll change my shampoo again, maybe that will help. I'm also in desparte need of hightlights but am trying to wait until after the first trimester. I'm sure that's not going to help my dry scalp any!

No morning sickness here either. Consider ourselves very lucky! I have breakouts on my chin and on my back, and some on my shoulders, tiny little pimples.. I pray that this goes away after the first trimester!!

My face is starting to clear up but my forehead, hair line and my chest are like little rash like pimples... very irritating. I've been using Neutrogena foaming face wash twice a day and I got a Rx from my dermatolgist called Finacea, a cream I put on twice a day.. it seems to be helping. How old are you (if you don't mind me asking)?

My face is breaking out like crazy also, but unlike you lucky folk, I have had morning sickness so incedibly bad. I can keep anything down . I think that is common with your first though. Im 20 and this is my first little person and despite the c___p I am going through in the process I couldnt be happier.

Robyn~ How far along are you? Although I haven't had the morning sickness or anything, breaking out can be frustrating, but I agree with you... all I have to do is look at my baby in the ultrasound picture and nothing else matters! It's an awesome feeling! I got married December 11th and we found out we were having a baby just 3 weeks after the wedding... it happened on the honeymoon! I was in shock!

Robyn - March 10

That is shocking. Even more shocking....lol...Im not married. I guess its not that unusual these days though. Me and my BF have been together for a long time and really love each other. We were planning on getting married but now this kind of popped up. Not a mistake...a suprise. So put the getting married stuff on hold. On top of it all we are in the process of moving, I am in the process of trying to buy a new car. Its all a little stressful. But we are happy! Any very much excited. He hasnt really adjusted to being a daddy yet, granted he is excited, but he cant handle my moodiness and cravings and yada yada yada. Its is frustrating to him! Understandable though eh? I dont want to be around myself sometimes...ha ha ha

Robyn - March 10

Ha ha, got so carried away didnt answer your original question! LOL, Im 7.5 not very far, but far enough to be miserable for the time being.

Robyn - March 10

weeks.....geeze....my mind is not here today!

Lori - March 10

I hear ya on the moodiness! I actually cry over nothing! but my husband is pretty good about it, he just laughs then I start laughing. But it's been crazy for us because we got married, then started remodeling our home so we moved in with my mom and my older sister while our house was being worked on, well the house took longer than expected so 2 months later, we finally moved back in this past Sunday, well in the meantime of living with mom, we find out we're having a baby... NO PRIVACY! I love mom dearly but once you've been out on your own and now being married, you kinda just want some time alone. (we also have a cat, so the cat came with us to moms) So we fianlly get back home and my husband decides he wants to sell our home and build another one out in the country... so he is putting it on the market. I will go insane if I have to move back in with mom for the remainder of the pregnancy! My husbands family bought me a new car as a baby gift! That was cool! What state are you in?

Lori - March 10

It gets worse... the mind thing.. I forget stuff all the time or can't remember if I turned the stove off, or iron. If I locked my car... or even what the heck I was doing 10 mins ago :)

Kristin - March 10

Lori, robyn! Well congrats on the first pregnancies to you both! I am 27y/o and my husband and I will be married for 5 years in September... Lori - my sister-in-law got pregnant on their honeymoon too!! I guesse everyone knows what you two were doing!! ha! This is such an exciting time.. I look at the ultrasound pictures all of the time! I can't believe how much we were able to see, technology is wonderful!!
