Conception Question

After reading ton and tons of medical/pregnancy websites who contradict one another how how long sperm can actually survive an fertilize an egg. I figure the best answer I can get is by actually asking women who have gotten pregnant. Most sites say sperm can survive around 72 hours. So my question is this: how many women here have actually conceived from having s_x 4, 5, 6+ prior to ovulation. I would really appreciate if you take the time out to answer this if it pertains to you.

I am not sure of the answer to your question, but I can tell you my story. I have had two m/c and essentially my cycle has gone like this - pregnancy - m/c - period - pregnancy - m/c - period - pregnancy. I am now just over 12 weeks pregnant. At what I thought to be 7 weeks 1 day pregnant, I went for an ultrasound. It showed that I was actually only 5 weeks 6 days pregnant - a difference of 8 days, but we saw the little heart beating and they said everything looked good for that date. It is hard to say what has happened as my cyles have always been long, and my body slightly off because of everything it went through. I know that my husband and I were trying, but we didn't actually have s_x on the day that I should have conceived if the ultrasound date is correct. I questioned my doctor and he said that sperm can live up to 7 days sometimes. I still question all of this, but everything seems to be going fine, so I have to just trust that everything is as it should be and it is a miracle that I got pregnant again. Not sure if this helps, but good luck.
