Craving Tuna Fish

I have been craving tuna fish for about 3 weeks now. I am 9 weeks and 2 days. I haven't eaten it but today the craving is killing me. Any ideas of how to kill this craving without eating the tuna? HELP!

Go ahead and give into it a little. Tuna in moderation is okay. Just don't over do it.

JP- I have also read tuna okay twice a week!!

I was told I could eat 2 medium tins a week so having a little won't do any harm. Maybe you could try eating other fish which have less mercury in if you are worried - the only fish I've been told not to ever eat is shark, swordfish or mackeral but its probably best to check.

I crave tuna too, and so did my sister in her first trimester. I eat very small amounts of tuna salad on bread sometimes, it makes me feel better and there must be something in it, my body or my baby needs. So, I think if you're careful you don't eat it by the bucketful, just in small amounts as the other girls said, you're ok.

JP, my sister is expecting a boy...I don't know if it means anything but there you go..We'll see, huh? I just figured that it must have something in it, we need but, your theory is interesting and certainly more fun..

I have done some research and it says excessive amounts of fish can harm your baby due to the amount of mercury in fish. Once or twice a week is fine but anything more than that can be harmful. Mecury can cause birth defects like autism, and ADD.Check in with OB to get specifics.
