Does anyone know the details of digestion slowing down during early pregnancy versus if that is so then how come there is increased hunger?

Ga__siness explains the sound and it is partly due to the slowed digestion. It doesn't mean that food takes longer to get out of your stomach but out of your intestines which can contribute to constipation. Your metabolism is sped up in pregnancy which makes you burn more calories which makes you hungry more often. So that's why you have slowed digestion but you're still more hungry. Oh and get used to actually pa__sing wind! It will happen more often than you care to think...

When pregnant your body works overtime to extract as much nutrients as possible from the foods you eat. That is why most pregnant women complain of some degree of constipation. You are hungry more because you require 300 extra calories on average when pregnant.
